It's so rare to find a specialty product that does exactly what it's supposed to -- but the AeroGarden does! The equipment is practically bulletproof, the operation is streamlined, and the plants come up perfectly.

I've had the Gourmet Herb kit growing since April -- about 8 months. The basils, parsley, and mint have especially thrived (with Extended Season Nutrients). I've even been hinting around for a second AeroGarden for the holidays!

We have very very short growing seasons here. I am loving the fact that I have fresh lettuce for my lunch sandwiches every day. The real treat for me will be trying the seed starting kit. I have wanted to grow watermelons for a few years now but our growing season is too short and melons turn out stunted and frequently never ripen. The other problem with a short season is that just when plants are starting to look their best, it snows and they die. I want to get my garden started early this coming spring and have them well on their way before planting outside. I just ordered the romaine kit and excited to have this growing during the winter!! I was amazed at how fast my salad greens kit grew. They were all germinating in 48 hours and all 7 pods are producing a plenty! I'm looking forward to the romaine doing the same.

Best Christmas present I ever got

Cons:
Large Footprint
Best Uses:

Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I saw this advertised last Christmas and said to my husband, "THAT's what I want for Christmas, and here's a coupon." It was the best present I've ever gotten. We live in New England, where winters are long and dark. I had light and green and fresh herbs, right here in my kitchen the whole winter long! In the spring, we replaced the herbs with cascading petunias that filled the kitchen with color. Tonight, we replanted it with herbs again, and I thanked my husband again for the gift. No one comes into our house without remarking on the AeroGarden. I'm like a kid, taking sheer pleasure in the wonder of gardening--in my kitchen, even when the whole world is frozen outside!

It is snowing outside and I have fresh herbs germinating in my kitchen! I love the aerogarden. The herbs germinated at different times, but within the interval on the label. I just wish I could buy individual pods, rather than a kit, or a modifiable kit. I don't use chives much (they come with the kit). I would like a kit with cilantro and rosemary, but it is not available. The chosen combination has a lot of visual appeal, even if it does not match my cooking demands 100%.

I like to use the basil on pizzas. I always have plenty of basil and can share with friends. I love herbs and love the fact that I can grow them in my kitchen without a sunny window. It can get a little messy if you don't keep your herbs harvested and let them dry out and the dead leaves fall.

I love it! The best kit to grow in it is the herb kit, grows fast and has a variety of things that can be used every day.

I love the light cycling feature.

The kids love to watch it grow, and help with pruning, adding water, or "feeding" the plants. So easy to use, my toddlers could maintain it on their own!

I purchased 3 classic aerogardens as part of the 3 garden wall farm about 9 months ago. This allowed me to get the 3 shelf wall garden for free. I could not be more happy. Having the 3 gardens allows me to grow herbs, lettuce, and veggies all at the same time. The unit is a wonderful conversation piece. Everyone who comes to our house comments on it. We are eating so much healthier now. I strongly recommend not just buying one aerogarden, but the full wall garden. Trust me, if you buy only one, you are quickly going to be wishing you had another. It's a great bargain when you buy the 3 together and the shelf allows you to keep your kitchen counter space. I have always wanted an outdoor garden, but just have not had the time for much more than a few herbs. These gardens are so easy to take care of. I have no problems keeping up with them. I already can't imagine being without them. Customer service is wonderful as well. They really stand behind their product. I just can't say enough good things about the whole system. I definitely strongly recommend this product.

I received my first AeroGarden a few weeks ago. I had seedlings in less than 48 hours, and now have a thriving brood of herbs! It's fun to watch these plants grow before our eyes; it's amazing how fast it's happening, and the plants are far healthier than their outside and potted counterparts! I can't wait to try other Aerogarden models and seed kits and plan on devoting an entire room to AG. I couldn't have had a more positive experience so far. A truly, fun, high-quality product! (Guess what everyone is getting for Christmas this year?) I'm elated with this Aerogarden!

I wanted the Aerogarden because it is difficult to grow plants where I live. I didn't realize I would learn so much about the proper treatment of each plant with the informative booklets included with each seed kit. I am amazed at the growth and the beauty of the plants. They seem almost unreal. I have had some problems, but they only showed me what great customer service Aerogardens have. I bought three Aerogardens and only one has had problems so far. The people at customer service have fixed everything. I highly recommend buying one, two or more.

My husband likes helping harvest herbs- it is usually impossible to get him to help out in the kitchen. Next I am going to try the tomatoes...

Very easy to use. I only wish that when you first order it, the free set of pods were ones that you could choose (instead of the default herbs of which I only tended to use 3 out of the 7). I liked the fact that you specify which types of plants you are trying to grow to personalize water and lighting needs but that does limit you on the ability to mix things like salad greens with herbs in your garden. I ended up having to buy an Aero3 to grow my herbs and took out the herbs from my Aero7 to replace it with salad greens. Although I have a big countertop, I did find that it took up quite a bit of space so for those with smaller counters (or pets that jump on counters to get to your plants), I would recommend a stand.

Well, my sister got me one of these things because I was renting and didn't have a place to plant my own garden. I missed a lot about gardening--especially being able to watch the plants come up, and the pleasure of growing my own food. (Food just tastes better when you grow it yourself!)

Now that I've moved into a house of my own and I have the space to garden outdoors, I'm surprised to find that I strongly prefer the Aerogarden to mucking about in the dirt... No weeds, no bugs, no messy fertilizer, but still I get the fresh herbs I love cooking with!

I'm an avid gardener but it gets too hot too quickly to grow lettuce here. I LOVE that I can have fresh greens year round, that all parts are replaceable, expandable. Next crop is eggplant (another crop that has NEVER done well for me). If there were a 3x buyer discount, I'd be getting #3!

Herbs are the best, you save more, and they grow like weeds!! (but good ones you can eat!)

We recieved a garden for Chistmas two years ago and immediately purchased a second one. We have been very pleased with the items that we have planted to give us a touch of springtime during the cold winter months. One of our favorites was the package of roses that we enjoyed this past winter. When it was warm enough we put them on the patio in a planter and still enjoy them. We currently have red and white roses blooming on the 18 inch bushes. Another favorite was the cherry tomatoes that we planted last year. When warm enough; they too were planted outside. This year we have nice sized plants full of tomatoes that were left in the ground and surprised us with their comeback. The gardens have been one of our most treasured purchases that we have made.

I would love to be able to have more than one AeroGarden, however, my kitchen is too small to accommodate that.

Absolutely Amazing Aerogarden!

Best Uses:

My fiance bought me an Aerogarden for Christmas last year. It is the best gift by far! I love to garden outdoors, unfortunately, the summer heat and sandy dirt in Myrtle Beach does not allow my garden to produce well. My first kit was herbs, and they produced like crazy! I love cooking, and so I started putting the herbs in everything! I am now growing lettuce, and we are eating salads constantly. I can't wait to try cherry tomatoes, strawberries, other herbs, snow peas. . . I just think it is the best invention, and I use it daily! Not only does it produce well, it also gives great light in the kitchen, and no bugs or critters eat my produce like outdoors! I think it is amazing and just love it! I am hoping that my fiance will buy me another one for Christmas this year, so I can have more than 1 thing growing at a time!

I love this machine. I set it up and was amazed at how quickly it grew. I first did the herbs. Though we didn't get to use them much because we didn't cook as often as we would like during the summer, the herbs always smelled refreshing in our kitchen all summer long. Now we are venturing for the tomatoes. I am actually considering purchasing another one so that I can grow the salad variety :) Very good purchase!

I bought my Aerogarden about 5 months ago and have been growing the International Basil kit. My results re not perfect, but they are good and the different varieties of Basil are delicious. Like any product, is has its pros & cons. Fewer cons, so I will begin with those;

The cord is a bit short and the light is quite bright. (My husband insists it could be seen from space.) Keep it out of bedroom sightlines and it will be fine.

The replacement kits are a bit expensive as are the bulbs.

Every single plant does not grow equally well.

But the PROS far outweigh the cons for me.

First and foremost, it is designed for ease of use, and it really is very easy. Seeds are already in the pods and the plant food is in tablets, which means it is pre-measured. Plus, the machine has very noticeable blinking red lights, to remind you when to water & feed. And the plants germinate more quickly that they do in pots.

Next, many people complain that the machine is kind of expensive. Well, I have actually shopped around and hydroponics systems really are expensive. And in most cases, the lighting is sold separately. BTW, all of the bulbs for these systems are expensive. So when compared to other systems with lighting, this one is relatively cheap.

If you order by phone, from Aeerogrow, they will substitute another seed kit, if you do not want the Gourmet Herb Kit.

Finally, it is just plain fun to have delicious herbs at my disposal whenever I want them. They find their way into pasta, omelettes, sandwiches, etc., on a daily basis. And since my house does not get much natural light, this added light is welcome.

I've loved this especially during the holidays when fresh herbs are so hard to find. I bought one for my daughter who is growing lettuce for her salads. The larger AeroGrow Deluxe is now on my wish list. I'd like to grow larger tomatoes (more flesh and less skin than cherry tomatoes). Fresh unblemished tomatoes are hard to find during the winter months here. Thanks for such a great product!

I bought two at the same time. One for lettuce and one for tomatoes.
The veggies are there and convienient to use and they don't spoil in my fridge!!
Everyone who comes over wants to find out about how the veggies grow;they peek under the grow surface and check out the root systems.
I am a science teacher, so I use the AeroGardens as a teaching opportunity.
My AeroGardens are in my kitchen and I don't even bother turning on lights in the kitchen any more because the grow lights provide sufficient illumination.
I am very sad that one of my lettuce pods was not viable.

I got the AeroGarden because I live in Florida and it is too hot and humid to grow many herbs, especially in the summer. In addition, I live in an apartment, so there is not enough space on my patio for all the herbs I want. This gives me the control of light, temperature and water and I know they are clean and pest and pesticide free. One note of caution, though. Be sure to keep watching the water level. Especially once the herbs begin to grow, you must add water every couple of days.

We never want to buy store bought letuce or greens again. The aerogarden is a real spoiler. We are still waiting for the tomatoes to ripen but they look great and I'm sure they will be terrific.

I love this product. I had a problem with one herb in my first garden, and the company continually sent me replacements and wanted my opinions. Great product, great product support.

This is my third one, and it is not quite as good as the others, but I am afraid I may have not totally cleared the pump from the last one. I recommend this to everyone.

I am a wonderful Computer Tech, but a lousy cook and gardener. I can kill a plant faster than anyone I know. Vegetables??? Forget it. I have never been able to keep anything alive. Until the AeroGrow. What a wonderful product. I started with the salad greens kits and enjoyed the most wonderful salads I have ever had. I was so pleased that I bought a second AeroGrow and started growing tomatoes, they are the sweetest tasting. I ended up buying a third AeroGrow and started growing snow peas. I come home from work and get a bowl and fork and pick a salad, that is growing right in my kitchen, fresh. No Bugs, No Pesticides. I have to admit that I haven't tried to grow the herb kits, but thats because, like I said, I'm a lousy cook and I don't know what to do with them. I just can't blame my AeroGrows for that.
This is a fantastic product. I also want to say that this product is rare in the fact that for once, I found a product that will Actually work and do everything as advertised, you don't find a lot of that today.

I started with 1 AeroGarden on the kitchen counter and got hooked. Bought triple wall unit for the family room (great light therapy 16+ hours a day and strategically placed behind our seating area---a real mood booster during our long Northeast eves and nights) and a Pro 200 for my office. Told my sister about it and she got one for her biology classroom. I have grown salad greens and herbs, but my favorite use is using the Master Gardener Kit to start my tomatoes. I have >40 variety heirlooms in my garden.

I purchased the basic AeroGarden with a salad greens kit at my local [...]. Although it was quick and easy to set up, the pump became excessively noisy almost immediately. The troubleshooting guide on the website, which was very detailed, did not help, so I contacted customer service. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a live operator, who immediately rectified the situation to my satisfaction. In addition, the seed kit (also purchased retail) did not sprout properly, and that was expeditiously handled with no questions asked; their guaranteed to grow assurance is accurate. My unit is now in good working order, and is growing batches of lettuce. Any company can suffer a product failure. AeroGrow impressed me with their rapid problem resolution. Since then, I've purchased an AeroGarden Pro 100, and love them both.
