I have had my garden for over a year now. Thought I would buy this garden so I have some fresh herbs for the holidays. Well the basil grew really well, like always. The dill is trying to catch up. The substituted in cilantro, which is growin slowly. The thyme, dill and mint did not grow for me at all. Like there were no seeds in there. I contacted customer service and they said it was my water. But I dont put anything in but spring water from the jug. So I just think there were bad seeds or no seeds. Said they would replace it, but havent seen nothing yet...not gettin my hopes up.

I was so excited watching the herbs seed and grow. The whole family enjoys watching them each day. The best part is the great taste of fresh picked herbs which add so much to all my recipes and I don't have to run to the store and hope my herb is in stock. I just snip and enjoy the perfume scenting the room. Everyone agrees the burst of flavor in your mouth can't be beat.

This is our second gourmet herb kit and I can tell it is going to be just as good as the first. It has been almost two weeks since we planted the pods and they are all sprouted and growing so fast. This kit contained thyme instead of cilantro, so I hope it does as well/ We love the Aerogarden, so do all our friends who enjoy eating at our house!
Bought this kit at a local department store on sale. Old seeds led to disappointment: Chives, cilantro, dill and mint were spindly and soon died. Thyme and parsley didn't even germinate. and only the basils did well. Made a lot of pesto!
I received my garden as a Christmas gift from my husband. It is the greatest gift I have received in years. I already finished a crop of Gourmet Herbs and the International Basil group. The heat from the lights makes the Basil warm and smells so good in the house. I am ordering another kit today - my third in 10 months. Thanks to the inventor.
Having fresh herbs on hand every day encouraged us to try them with new foods and in new combinations. Now that summer's over, I can't wait to grow them again.

Love it so much, just gave one as a house-warming to friends in Park City, UT... long, cold winters, LIMITED availability of fresh herbs and greens, love to cook and love living plants... seems right.

I use basil in many dishes. I particularly like to use it in a marinade for chicken or pork. It tenderizes and adds lots of flavor. One half cup of olive oil, one quarter cup wine vinegar, one clove of garlic, lots of basil leaves, salt and pepper to taste. Marinate meat, then grill or saute in frying pan. Both ways are very tasty.

I LOVE the Aerogarden and the Gourmet Herb Seed Kit. I registered for the Aerogarden for my bridal shower 1 year ago and it is the best product I have ever gotten. It also acts as a nightlight :) I have made sooo many things w/the fresh herbs and have been very satisfied w/all of the seed kits I have gotten. My husband loves it too and enjoys using the herbs in everyday cooking. If you love to cook you will love this product.

I have grown 4 of these, and all of the plants have done well EXCEPT for the chives - they almost invariably end up dieing within a couple of weeks.

This is a great mix of herbs and is perfect for a person like me who lives in the city, loves to cook, but doesn't have time to cook every night of the week. Buying fresh herbs from the grocery store can be expensive and often the left over herbs go to waste, but with the gourmet herb kit I always have a a nice variety of super fresh and great tasting herbs on hand. They herbs in this kit grow fast and are always ready for the nights I have time to do what I love to do, cook!

I was very happy with my first experience with Aero Garden, but this time - the second time - I have problems - Parsley, Thyme and Italian Basil are not growing at all. I planted them all at the same time - 17 September - watered and fed them with the proper nutrients - so far no success. Dill, Purple Basil, Chives and Mint are coming along just fine....
I am growing my third herb kit. I love this product but I think I will choose my own herbs next time. I use some herbs more than others so I would only grow those. The chives didn't grow too well so I would use that space for something that did grow better. The dill can get messy but it's nice to know you have dill on hand when you want it.

I bought my AreoGrow one year ago, and I have not yet bought another kit. The Basil and Chives are still growing after a year WOW! This is wonderful.

Have two aerogardens, the first kit of this was great! The cilantro didn't come out but was quickly replaced with thyme with no hassle. Second time around with this same kit has not been well at all, only the basil and chives are working, the parsley is limping along. The plants sprouted and then died off at the stem where it touches the foam. Any recommendaions or comments? Have not made contact with customer service yet. Cherry tomatoes did very well.

I'm new to growing herbs and absolutely LOVE this Aerogarden...The gourmet seed kit is awesome. It's so nice to have fresh herbs available in your own kitchen...The only frustration was that my dill never grew...I even had it replaced...and had to prune all my other herbs to harvest the 2nd batch...It NEVER grew either? I'm giong to try the salsa garden next!

My husband and I have had two gourmet seed kits, and loved them both. In the first, we were given Cilantro instead of Thyme, and the cilantro never sprouted, so we took a cutting of our incredibly healthy basil and planted it in the cilantro sponge. The second time we frankensteined together two seed kits and planted 2 dill, 2 thyme and 3 basil. Sadly, in this attempt, one of the dills never sprouted and the thyme is unmanageable and small. The other dill took a long time to get healthy, but is now doing fine. The purple basil is almost freakishly healthy, bushy and dominating the whole crop. We LOVE pesto made with our basil. My only complaint is that having only one plant means you don't tend to get enough ingredients for recipes after only one harvest (except for basil), which is why we mashed 2 kits together. I wish we'd planted 2 chives instead of 2 thymes. Overall, I'm just so happy to have my aerogrow and I LOVE the gourmet herb kit!

I bought the Aerogrow for my daughter in Chicago while visiting from California. Things were not as easy to grow in her new area as they were back home. When it arrived during our visit, [...]I put it together in nothing flat. It was a beautiful addition to her huge fashionable kitchen. The grandchildren would watch and check on the sprouting and growth each morning. Sure enough, every pod began its growth on the exact date the label said. The plants were only a half inch tall when I left last week, and the entire family can't wait for their first harvest. It was a gift for her birthday in November, so she will have wonderful fresh hjerbs for her cooking by then. Thanks for the wonderful product. It is amazing.

This product lives up to its advertisement. It's wonderful to have fresh herbs available at all times. I live 12 miles from the nearest supermarket, so the convenience is a plus (especially considering the price of gasoline!)

This is a great product, the only downfall (if you think of it that way) is that the herbs grow so well so fast that I was not able to use them all fresh. They grew faster then we could cook with them. As a bonus, it adds a great aroma to your kitchen! Yum!

I have grown herbs in my house before but nothing lasts as long as the Aero Garden! Love the herb kit!! I only wish I had the cilantro (since it was substituted for thyme).

I absolutely love this product. My husband bought it for me for Christmas last year when we were stuck in a tiny little apartment. It was wonderful then and it still is now that we've moved into a house with room for gardening. I use the herbs everyday. Only problem is that when I replant I'm too impatient to wait for it to grow out!

I own 2 aerogardens, I love having fresh herbs. But, I've noticed that the back right rear pod (Cilantro or Thyme) never grows. Also, I'll have one time where the herbs grow large, abundant crops,the next time I hardly get a full mature growth. That is very disappointing since the herb pkgs are quite expensive. The only ones that seem to always grow abundantly are the basils.

I use herbs on a daily basis. The directions for pruning are easy and this minimal maintenance keeps the herbs from growing wild on you. I remove them after 4 months and plant them outside for continued use while I plant something else and watch it grow. It makes cooking a breeze. Just snip and use.

I receivd this as a gift from my kids because I love fresh herbs in my cooking but find them difficult to grow. This product is simple and the plants do grow with loittle maintainance. Acouple of things I would like to see:
1- I think the seed kits are rather expensive.
2- I had 3 fast growing and 3 much slower growing
plants.
3- I wish the plants lasted longer after they
grew.

This was the default free pack with my purchase of the Aero7. It was nice with good general variety but I found that I only used maybe 3-4 of the herbs on a regular basis. I wish there was a way to specify exactly which herbs you want to customize into your 7 pack. I did have trouble with the parsley growing and once I got rid of two of my pods (one the cat kept eating and the other got moldy) I moved it to a more lighted area of the plant lid and it started growing better.

How wonderful to walk across the kitchen and harvest a few leaves in many varieties to add to a fresh salad. Thr quality is consistently good and - best of all - bug free even in a tropical climate!
Got the machine and this seed pack for my birthday, and it was the best gift I've ever received. I loved having fresh herbs on hand all the time, and was thrilled with the thought of all the money I was saving. It's also just a blast to watch them grow, since I knew that I'd kill an outdoor garden. My herbs lasted for months, and now I'm ordering tomatoes!
The only downside was that my kit didn't have cilantro, which I was looking forward to. I'd suggest getting rid of one of the basils, since they both grew like wildfire and I couldn't keep up. Replace one with rosemary!!

I'm so excited. I 'planted' on Sunday and we have seedlings already!
I received the Aerogarden and this seed pack as a gift and started it immediately. A minor setback was there was no mint but a substitution was made. While most of the herbs grew with no problems, the chives sprouted maybe 1 to 2 stalks and never grew to it's full potential. There wasn't enough to harvest. Overall, the herbs were delicious and I enjoyed adding them to my cooking. They also had a very long growth period and after months, I removed all but the basil which grew like wildfire and was enjoyed for weeks thereafter.

All of the herbs in this kit sprouted ahead schedule. I haven't had it long enough yet to harvest any of them, but so far they seem like healthy little plants. Good herb variety as well.

This was my first kit and all plants grew quickly and were healthy and full. It was great fun to clip a bit of fresh basil to add to my salad dressing, snip some chives to put on a baked potato, or chop some dill to add to a fish dish or tartar sauce. I would rather they eliminated 1 basil and the mint and replaced them with herbs more commonly used, such as oregano.

I really loved this seed kit, I had 5 full months of herbs, all were fantastic, The Basil plant grew huge, shading out some of the plants, Herbs tasted great. Visitors to my apartment were amazed by it. Highly recommended

I am working on my second round of herbs and it is wonderful to have fresh herbs easily accessible. It makes any dish easy to add that extra touch at the end. It has already made my gift giving list for the holidays.

Got it and everything grew on schedule, the cilantro was slow but once it came in it took off! I enjoyed using them quite often and like growing things so it was fun to take care of, just snip and water pretty much. I took it down when we moved because of limited space but will set up again when we move once again. It saves money and time running to the store. We used everything and really used basil and cilantro quite often, dill the runner-up. Great product!!!

I love fresh herbs but have no knack for gardening, so I was glad to experiment with this kit. I had the most luck with the basils (my favorite herbs) and the least luck with the thyme and the mint (the only herbs that I have ever been able to grow outside, ironically). The parsley grew beautifully, but I hardly ever used it. I wondered why the chives and dill didn't seem to be growing--then caught the cats eating them. I now have the Aerogarden Cat-Proof Stand, an International Basil Seed Kit and couldn't be happier.

I'm now on my third gourmet herb collection. And, I can't live without it. I was sick of buying huge bunches of expensive fresh herbs at the market, only to throw away much of it. To be able to snip just what you need when you need it is an invaluable saving. The little seeds grow very quickly and the harvest period goes on and on.
I loved coming home everyday and seeing the progress. Herbs tasted great and was so easy.

There's nothing better than snipping fresh herbs while cooking. And no need to buy salad dressing anymore - you can make a wide variety easily and quickly to go on your fresh salad greens.

The herbs were out of control. It lasted about 6 months and I think we could have pushed it further if we hadn't been itching to try something else. We used the herbs in everything from drinks to dinners to baked goods.

These guys/seeds were just great, they grow quickly, last extremely long and are simply delicious.
As an avid hobby chef and someone cares over the freshness of his ingrediens, these seeds saved many college meals when I didn't have a car to get to local farms, or farmers markets!
They are also excellent, fot elementry and middle school classrooms.

LOVE this kit. This is my first time growing herbs, and wow what an experience. The Basil is hardy and robust, it grows like crazy and tastes amazing. Mint and dill grew well but I don't use them as much. After about 3 montshs the parsley and chives faded out but it's 4 months and the basil is still going strong. The cilantro never sprouted, so instead of looking on this web site like I should have I bought organic seeds at the local store and put them in my pod after removing the original non sprouting ones. Needless to say the new cilantro struggled and never produced enough for harvest.

Moved these outside for the summer to grow some green beans inside. Plants are still thriving outside and are available for constant cutting for cooking use.

use product for kitchen herbs. they germinate quickly and I can run and snip one dinners worth in minutes.
the only draw back is the paper collars seem too stiff for the seedlings to push through. the leaves curl under and need to be encouraged to come through by pressing down on the collar around the plant to prevent deforming the leaves as they grow through, othrwise the pods are terrific!
I love having fresh herbs growing in my kitchen, and this is super easy. The basil grows especially quickly; I haven't been able to use it fast enough. I noticed that others have newer kits with thyme instead of cilantro, but I have the cilantro and that's probably what I use the most.

never had fresh cilantro that tasted so good.
However, the kit description indicated that it had thyme, but it didn't have thyme - it had cilantro instead. since the fresh cilantro was so delicious and I have thyme growing in my herb garden outdoors, it wasn't a problem
the only negative was that it grew so fast it was hard to keep the plants cut back enough and they grew into the lights and turned brown where it contacted the lights.

This was my first kit, and I'm already plotting and planning more!
I cheated. I started seeds, under grow lights, fully a month before ordering the Aerogrow kit. The (now outdoor) "control" plants, (those that survived), are smaller by 2/3, giving up maybe one leaf a week each - compared to a HANDFULL of basil from the Aerogarden!
And the flavor! So FRESH! (If I was this fresh I'd get slapped!)
The only down-side I can think of is that I don't cook enough! But this thing is INSPIRING! I want MORE of them! It's the ultimate "What do you get for someone who has everything?!?"
We need a trim - again!

I love fresh herbs. The cilantro didn't grow and when I called the company they said they no longer offer it so they didn't replace it. I thought they should have sent me something else to replace it. Other than that I have enjoyed fresh, chives, basil. Next time I would skip the mint and grow more basil. I hope they improve the cilantro seeds. I love fresh cilantro!
It is fun to grow and enjoy the fruits of your labor. The only problem comes from leaving town or neglecting. Hopefully, my pet sitter will enjoy gardening. Anyway, I am hooked and ordered a 2nd garden to grow tomatoes with my basil.

Excellent in salads, sauces, dips, etc. Chives & Parsley did not grow but dill, basil, thyme & mint are still growing rapidly after several months. Family & friends love it! I would highly recommend this product to anyone! Bravo!

I ordered the black aergarden and love it. It is a famtastic machine. I have tried to grow things with no success, but with the aerogarden I am a complete success with wonderful healthy herbs. I am on a diet and the herbs are wonderful seasonings that helps me to stay on track. Customer service is wonderful. I called because the parsley did not grow. A representative instructed me on what to do to verify if there were seeds in the pod, and how to obtain a replacement. I received the replacement without any problem, and the parsley is growing wonderfully. I plan to order the green beans and baby greens next. Thanks for the enrichment you added to my life.

This herb kit is great! The varieties of Basil are wonderful, especially paired with garlic in a pesto (over chicken or fish). We don't like chives, otherwise it would be a 5 star!

I love cooking with fresh herbs, during the summer I grow my own herbs outdoors, but this is perfect for the winter. I was disappointed they replaced the cilantro as I am a HUGE cilantro fan. I also depend a lot on fresh oregano. I was able to be inventive however so I could get the mix of herbs I wanted without wasting a seed pod. I replaced the mint seeds with oregano seeds and the purple basil with cilantro. I just brushed out their seeds and glued mine in place. It worked very well. Everything grew wonderfully. I'm not certain why aerogrow has had problems with the cilantro germination. I wonder if they had a bad bunch of seeds? In any case, I highly recommend this kit.

I mixed up the seed kits and am only using a few from the Gourmet Herb ... Dill, Mint and Chive. They sprouted quickly, and I am enjoying watching the daily growth. The chives come up in a single "hairline" sprout, which I assume will turn into a little "bunch." I love my Aerogarden! This is my second planting. I planted Johnnie Jump Ups the first time, and they were so cute! (Unfortunately, they didn't adapt to soil when I tried to transplant them.) I just purchased a second Aerogarden, and am planning the next garden. I purchased some dwarf carnation seeds and some pink gazania seeds, which I will use with my master garden kit.

I got my first AeroGarden about 2 years ago and now have 3. This is by far the seed kit I've purchased the most. Like another reviewer, I was at first disappointed to discover the cilantro had been replaced with thyme. Well, it turns out I'm using the thyme more than I ever used the cilantro. (Though, I never had a problem with germination when it was included. I'll be growing cilantro with the Master Gardener kit instead.)
There are are couple of herbs I rarely use - the mint and the purple basil. I've heard the purple basil can be used to make a wonderful pesto, but the color is off-putting, and there isn't enough in the AeroGarden to make into pesto.
The mint I occasionally use as a garnish, only because it's there. It grows like a weed, so I trim back the number of plants as soon as soon as it sprouts. I'd prefer they replace the mint and purple basil with more versatile herbs.
Other than that, it's great having herbs growing right in my kitchen at all times. I cook all the time, and fresh herbs make such a difference. They're so expensive to buy at the store, though, and they don't last long once they've been harvested.

My aerogarden was may favorite Christmas gift. I had great-tasting herbs within weeks, and for as long as 6 months. I dismantled my garden for the summer, and I am missing it! My basil outside was eaten by bugs, and my parsley and cilantro plants are not as full as I would like (and need!) after 6-8 weeks of great weather--and I started them from plants, not seeds.
Of the herbs provided, I liked the red basil the least and the green basil, parsley, and cilantro the best. I found I had more herbs than I could use, as I pruned frequently. I looked for recipes that used herbs!
The only drawback was keeping the aerogarden watered. I found I had to add water EVERY day, once the plants were mature. When we went away
